Checking out the FUJIFILM instax Link Wide Printer

Welcome to the wonderful world of Fujifilm Instax.

My journey with Fujifilm products has been an ongoing, loving relationship. I have probably 10 Fujifilm Instax products and another five Fujifilm digital cameras and don't get me started on how many lenses!

Recently I added a new Instax product to the family, the Instax Link Wide Printer.

If you know me at all, you know I love Instax products. Honestly, I have been waiting years for a Wide printer to exist. Every time there was a new Instax product announcement, I'd always have that question: "When will there be a wide printer?", and so have many of my photographer friends. Well, here it is!

How I Use These Printers & Why I Love Them

I love to print images from sessions, photowalks, of my time with family and friends. There is something so special about the opportunity to immediately share images I make with the people I make them of. I also make prints from my trips and hang them, or use them in journals as mementos of those experiences.

These prints can be a great gift to someone you've never met or are just meeting for the first time. They can bring a smile to the face of someone you love. They can help you transport to a moment in time, in an instant.

What I love about the Fujifilm Instax Link Wide Printer

  • Small form factor & simple design

  • Easy to charge

  • Quality (always remember this is film and looks different that traditional prints)

  • The look of the film

  • The nostalgia and joy of sharing these prints with friends, family, and clients.

What I'd love to see improved

  • Faster, processing/transfer speed, since the printer transfer via Bluetooth, this is a little slower than wireless.

Cool Benefits You Might Not Know About

  • Print Mode Options: Instax-Natural Mode or Instax-Rich Mode for colour rendition (access in settings). I've been using the Rich mode mostly, but plan to do some test prints being Natural and Rich. By default, I believe the printer starts out with Rich mode active.

  • Adding a QR code to the print, which could link to anything, is a great option for event & wedding photographers.

  • Make collages by creating prints with more than one photo

  • Templates to add messages and frames within the print

  • Sketch on your images, in the app, before you print

Other Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Try the "intelligent" filter when you are printing to see how that impacts the look of your image.

  • Play around with reducing saturation a little if an image is highly pigmented.

  • A slight increase in contrast may be beneficial on images where you feel it needs a teeny punch.

  • If you only own one, it should automatically connect each time you use it with the app.

The Fujifilm Instax Link Wide Printer is available in White or Mocha Gray .
