Clonakilty, Ireland

If you’ve ever contemplated going to Ireland, stop thinking about it and make it happen. Ireland is a fabulous place to visit, and I’d think live as well. After spending several days in Dublin in March, I had the fortune of doing a mini-epic road trip with a couple of dear friends.2015_0329_Ireland003-Edit2015_0329_Ireland009-EditFrom Dublin, we headed south towards County Cork, through Cork on to a small city named Clonakilty. Now one of our friends is a chef at this wonderful little spot in Clonakilty called Deasy’s Harbour Bar & Seafood Restaurant. If you go to Clonakilty you need to eat there. It was the best meal of my entire trip so far!And I have the perfect, place for you to stay when you visit Clonakilty. There’s this fabulous house, on Airbnb, with views of the ocean, on a cliff. Gardens, fireplace, fantastic kitchen, and more. Do yourself a favour and book this place for a retreat. I know I’d love to head back there one of these days. The hosts are amazing and generous. Very lovely place to be.While in Clonakilty, our dear friend played the ultimate host, from cooking us dinner the first night to spending the following day toting us about to different spots in the area.Horses! Well one in this image, but we did see more… this fella was enjoying a snack.2015_0330_Ireland021-EditFog and rolling hills2015_0330_Ireland015and of course… the wondrous, crashing waves of the North Atlantic.2015_0330_Ireland006IMG_1431IMG_2214One of my goals within this extended trip has been to see more of this part of the world. I love cities like Dublin and Galway dearly, but there’s definitely more to see and experience within Ireland. So happy that I had a chance to.MASSIVE thank you to Neill, Susan, Caitlin and Mark for making the trip a reality.Processed with VSCOcam with e2 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with 6 presetUp next...
