square format apps pt.1

How many of you out there use Instagram to share your images? Did you ever shoot medium format film and love the look of the square (or almost square) format? I thought I'd share a couple of fun little square (or almost square) camera replacement apps. These are all dead simple and easy to use so here we go!6x6On one side of the app you will see a slider to turn the flash off or on, an icon to change the grid view and a slider to shoot in colour or black and white. On the other side you'll see a little button with a hand in the center, tap this to load the settings page. The other big button is to snap away. Want to get the full TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) or old school feel, turn that 6x6-Flex (TLR) mode to On and get ready to see the world a different way (just note the image will be flipped when it's saved! Another note, with one of the grid options on there's a little level in the center of the grid, it's really cool! Also… in the settings you will see a cheat sheet to set the following options while you're shooting.Set FocusSet ExposureLock Focus/ExposureAuto-Focus/ExposureIt automatically saves to the camera roll and the output is 2448x2448 on an iPhone4s6x7 is, in essence the same, however it provides you with a not quite square image. All of your controls are in the same area:Sliders to turn Flash off or on, or to change from Colour to Black and white. The same little hand icon for your settings. There isn't a flip your world option in this one (which most of you may appreciate). It automatically saves to the camera roll and the output resolution is 2448x2856 on an iPhone4sLike I said, quick, easy, camera replacement apps that shoot fairly fast, as there aren't any bells and whistles. Sometimes this is a good thing. And really, isn't that what we have all those other editing apps for? ;)p.s. I apparently managed to snap both of my screen caps while the image was out of focus!thanks!kate
