The Crazy Winds of Portchester

The coast of England is a moody beast. In a short trip through Portsmouth and Portchester I experienced hurricane level winds to completely calm winds. A friend I was staying with was awesome and drove me around the area to explore a bit. We found ourselves at Portchester Castle, where the tides were high and crashing up over the sea wall and the wind just about knocked us on our rears. These are challenging conditions to shoot in, even if you're using a tripod. You'd honestly need multiple sandbags weighing things down so they don't get carried away in the gusts. In this case I held on to my camera tight and actually had the camera strap around my neck. If you know me, this isn't a common occurrence!Regardless, it was an amazing day of exploration and time spent with a fabulous friend and her family.
