a day trip about washington
This past weekend, I spent some time with dear friends. As we hopped in the car and got on the road. Driving north of Seattle towards a state park called Deception Pass...There's a great bridge that you can walk across, supplying you with the opportunity to see some amazing views of the water, beach, and a horizon that goes on...Once you cross the bridge there are stairs that go below the bridge so that you can cross to the other side, as well hike down closer to the water or even the beaches. This photo is a view from the path below the beach. We crossed under the bridge and found a path down to North Beach, where I snapped this photo of some trees and the rocky walls. This was taken with my Olypmus Pen E-P2 and a Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 optic. Here's a photo of my friends, Jenny and Matt, they're tiny! But I really liked the texture and old world feel of this picnic area. After some hiking and picture creating along the pass and the beach we hopped back in the car and back on the road, heading towards Coupeville and lunch. We ended up a pretty nice restaurant in the small town, with a view of the water, fresh seafood and great wine. We had a filling meal, walked about town a bit. Pretty soon we were ferry bound, from Whidbey Island to Mukilteo and then back home to Seattle. It's nice to just take a day, here and there, to go explore. It's important! I encourage you to do something like this... often! Here are a couple of portraits of my friends...MattJennyPortraits taken with the Olympus Pen E-P2 with the Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 Optic and edited with Lightroom 3 and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.What adventures do you enjoy?
