On The Road - Part 1 - Seattle to Medford
There's something appealing about the open road. Even in going to places you've been before there's some excitement of going there again, or finding something new along the way.I've been wanting to do a road trip for sometime, today marked the first day of a two week journey from Seattle, through Oregon, to California, Nevada, Utah, Montana and back home to Seattle.Sometimes with a roadtrip like this, it's easy to focus on your destination each day, however I'm hoping to make stops and detours along the way to explore areas which look interesting. Here's a few iPhone images from the journey from Seattle, WA through Portland, Or to Medford, Or.the Sunrise in Seattle:About an hour or two South of Seattle I found myself surrounded by Fog, lots of it. I decided to pull off the highway and see what I could find to fit the mood of the fog...Gas Station:creepy white van:I had lunch in Portland and decided to finally check out Powell's Book store, if you love books and are ever in the Portland area, you must go there.I found this couple napping near the book store:Once leaving Washington into Oregon, the weather changed considerably, the sun came out and the sky was filled with those lovely cottony clouds. After I left Portland I started noticing lots of open spaces, farmland and I wanted to capture it. I found this house in the journey. After that I focused on the destination of my hotel, as I was starting to get tired! (I've been up since 6am).Here's the hotel lobby...Look for a follow up post with photos from the "good camera". Someone left their card reader at home!!Moral of the story (so far?)Double check your gear everytime!!!Thanks for reading!!
